Stress, sleep and skin

Cortisol, the stress hormone
Stress raises cortisol, which increases sebum and inflammation. That's why a tense stretch often shows up on the skin a few days later.
Sleep repairs
During deep sleep, the body regulates inflammation and repairs skin. Short or irregular nights worsen both. Regularity matters as much as duration.
Concrete levers
You can't erase stress, but you can lower its load: breathing, cutting screens in the evening, regular bedtimes. These act on the skin through inflammation.
