Diet and acne

Fast sugar and insulin

High-glycemic foods (fast sugars, refined products) spike insulin and a growth factor, IGF-1. The result: more sebum and more inflammation. It's the best-established dietary lead.

Dairy proteins

Milk and whey contain factors that act much like insulin. For some people, cutting dairy calms the skin; for others it doesn't. This is exactly the kind of correlation to test.

The useful approach

No bans: we observe. Favor low-glycemic foods, and test over a few weeks the effect of reducing dairy or fast sugars. Your sense of it and your notes guide what's next.
